Winter I Horse Trials at FHP goes smoothly

The Winter I Horse Trials at the Florida Horse Park finished without any significant problems with many riders enjoying the first chance of the year to get a score in the book. With the Prelim and Inter divisions over on Saturday it was left for the rest to see how the holiday break might have affected their form. Katherine Wade on Dun and Dusted had two clear rounds after Friday to narrowly win Open Training A. There we a few minor hardluck stories there with some small errors on Cross Country and Stadium rearranging the finish order heavily from after Dressage.

In Open Training B all eyes were on Leslie Law after the low 16 score in Dressage Friday. Unfortunately for him two faults in Stadium meant Marcia Kulak on Suits U could slip past and win the division. Debbie Adams on Lavarino with two solid jump rides was successful in Training Horse A and Lesley Law on Java took first place in Training Horse B leading from Dressage.

Other winners were Matthew Elliot & Kelley Kays-Everett in Training Rider divisions and Darren Chiacchia, Alexandra Hom & Michael Godfrey successful in the Novice arenas. Cristin Stoop on Navigator had a solid weekend taking out Beginner Novice Horse.

You can see all the final results by heading to the Florida calendar page. (provisional results will also be posted there as they come in for all shows.)
