The 2008 year has started in great style with the Winter I Horse Trials this weekend at Ocala's Florida Horse Park. Low scores were certainly plentiful none greater than Leslie Law on the Dutch Warmblood, All The Buzz who turned in a sensational 16.0 score for Dressage on Friday. On Saturday there was more good news for the combination as they went clear around the Cross Country course to keep their low score intact heading into the Stadium round Sunday with a clear lead.
Some of the events were completed on Saturday including Open Intermediate where Buck Davidson came from third after Dressage to outgun both low scores posted earlier by Leslie Law and win on May I Tell Ya. All the Preliminary divisions were also completed with Courtney Olmstead coming from 8th after Dressage on Kosmo for success in Open Prelim A.
Missy Miller would turn around a good day Friday to a great Saturday finishing 1st & 3rd in Open Prelim B. With solid scores in the 30s with Dene Court and Leprauchauns Rowdy Boy and sitting in 6th and 13th position, Missy had the only clear rounds on Cross Country and Stadium in her division to take home a set of ribbons.
Erin Hoverson was succesful in the Prelim Rider on Bounce II and in the Open Prelim Young Riders Ciara Barr had solid rounds all over, winning on Imperial Imp with the final score of 38.5.
