After a great deal of work and some expense apparently, the bill for the specialty license plate "Discover Florida's Horses" has passed. Governor Charlie Crist still has to sign off on it but the FHP council are crossing their fingers all is going well.
Look for the plate to start appearing later in 2010.

Loudon-Meetze And Lo Fino produced a clear round in showjumping to take out over $6000 in prize money at the Ocala Horse Properties Cup. And just as well they jumped clear as Leahona Rowland and Lorenzo were breathing down their necks ready to take the first place ribbons.
This was the first year that Equiventures organized the event. Peter Gray and Jonathan Holling, co-founders of Equiventures organized a great show at the Florida Horse Park after the previous organizer stepped down. Their goal was putting on a quality international event with top level judges and they achieved that on both counts with many other great things throughout the weekend.
In 3rd place in the CCI** was Danielle Dichting from Georgia on Tops. In the CCI* Hannah Burnett and Harbour Pilot were the winners after a small time penalty in the jumping phase. Burnett had been tied for 1st place after Dressage and Cross Country with Lisa Marie Ferguson and Smart Move, however they pulled three rails in Showjumping and slid down to 9th place in the end.

The Area III Adult rider clinic held recently at Rocking Horse Farm was enjoyed by all and well attended. Clinicians were Lucinda Green and Andrew Harbison who put all horse and riders through a variety of tests and questions according to their level.
For this report we thank Carol Odgen who runs her own clinics at UCF Stables in Canton GA. covers the jumping and cross country part of the clinic over the weekend.
"Oh, my aching muscles" What a weekend, though! Had a BLAST!!! Lucinda is so cool -- and gives such a good clinic. It was windy, (but sunny), and cold Sunday (unless you were riding and working!). She set up a bunch of hard exercises to make the horses figure things out for themselves, once presented to the question. It was very interesting, but my horse ("The Star"!!!) made easy work of it! Oh, I made a few mistakes, but Lucinda was pleased that I just sat there while he figured out how to get over the oxer!! (and on through the maze of offset jumps and bending lines!)
